We all want to write. But, you know, life gets in the way. This is an idea - not mine - which will, with any luck, mean you end up with at least 10,000 words written, and probably much more.

Adapted from the Music City Romance Writers site, which was linked to from the GilesRulesBaby Yahoo group recently:

It's easy to write 100 words. Heck, you probably write thousands of words every day in emails, notes or memos without even thinking about it. So 100 words is nothing, is it? Ten minutes of your time. It will take more time for your computer to boot up than it will to write 100 words.

The way it works is you pledge to write 100 words a day for 100 consecutive days on your manuscript. If at any point, even on day 99, you fail to write 100 words, you have to start your day count over again.

In this group, you should post at least 100 words for every day after your start date. It's probably helpful to put "Day One" or whatever in the subject line. The group is here because posting the words is another prod up the backside to actually write the damn things. The posts don't have to all be from the same story, and they don't have to be fiction. They can be anything - essays, drabbles, fanfic, whatever you want to write.

This group is open to everyone and unmoderated, but IP addresses are logged. No flaming, please!
